What is a HealthWalk?
HealthWalks are free, short, volunteer led, local walks aimed at those who are currently not active enough to benefit their health. Walks are generally between 40-90 minutes and leave from accessible venues such as libraries and leisure centres. There is no need to book, walkers simply turn up for a free HealthWalk. Most of the HealthWalks finish with refreshments and a chat.
Walking in a group is a great way to start walking and to stay motivated. You’ll make friends and discover new places to walk in your neighbourhood whilst improving your health and wellbeing at the same time.
The East Kent HealthWalk scheme covers the local authority areas of Ashford, Canterbury, Dover, Shepway, Swale & Thanet with more than 70 walks available.
